Need help on wiring aftermarket audio component

Let me begin by apologizing if this is a repost or if someone has already address this topic. I've done a search and couldn't find what i'm looking for.

PROBLEM - I would like to install some aftermarket audio component to my TL. Changing the stock speaker is fairly easy, I think, however, I'm running into problems when I am running wires for the amp to power my sub. (power, ground, audio signal, and remote wire) I'm not at all confident with the local audio shops because I've heard about horror stories about how they prefer to cut wires and they quality of work and customer service is not up to par.

Has anyone upgraded their TL's audio system by themselves? Can you help out with some pointers? Any feedback will greatly be appreciated. Thanks - Hanh
