Need help. Trunk was open, climate control and radio was changed.

I went out to my car this morning and the trunk was partially open. I was almost too afraid to look if the W6s were still back there. They were as were lots of valuables in the back seat. Radio was on a static station and climate control was set on auto at 76 degrees but I left it on manual and low.

I'm ruling out attempted theft because I had gold and silver coins in the back along with my weight belt, shoes, etc and nothing was taken. Trunk was open but I have it in valet mode disabling the button and the glove box was still locked.

Is there a malfunction that can cause this? Windshield was recently replaced and it was raining all day and night.

The only other thing I can think of is someone has a similar remote.

The car is waaaay out of remote range from the parking spot to the house.

sounds like the MICU (sp?) unit shorted out. Windshield replacements cause this a bit on the TL. I suggest you water down the car with a hose and then check the interior of the car for dampness.

You made out better than me... Went out to the car this morning and saw things that were inside last nite, sitting next to my car!!! The fuckers went thru all my shit... but what's crazy is they only stole my iPod and the remote for my DVD player. They left 2 brand cordless phones, digital camera, $200 in Best Buy gift cards, and the full system in my sig. My hope is that they feel they can get lucky and come back for seconds... I'm sitting in the window now with my girlfriend (.40 Caliber Taurus). If I catch him were going back to his house to see what he has that I want !!!

Sorry to hear that.

I went through that in my other car and watched out my bedroom window for the first couple days with a shotgun and my Taurus .45. Taurus was loaded and chambered. Shotgun wasn't chambered just so I could rack it off and scare the crap out of them. Never got the chance to.

I need to get my windshield replaced soon. Is there anything I need to tell the guy to look out for to avoid this?

Update. It has been raining again and when I came out this morning all 4 windows were about an inch down (luckily no water in the car) and it barely started.

Needlesss to say I'm getting the windshield guy to redo my windshield.
