Need Help with Navigation System

I bought 2006 Acura Tl today with navigation. The navigation was starting withthe acura logo and going to disclamer screen and then back to logo and disclamer. I took the battery terminal off for sometime which reset everything. I entered the codes for radio and nav but now it goes to acquiring signal and back to logo to acquiring signal.

My question is what can I do to fix it?
Is there anyway I could disable the navigation and just use the cd player options on the touchscreen.

First, try ejecting the DVD and cleaning the lens with a cleaning DVD.

If that doesn't work, the more radical ways to clean the lens are described in this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/diy-how-fix-navi-disk-read-errors-873489/.

IDK if you can use the touchscreen audio controls without the Navi working-- try pushing the "Audio" button on the far right of the Navi joystick to see if the audio controls appear. If they appear, you should be able to use them.

Welcome to AZ.

Well it started to work but now it just keeps going to disclamer screen and is in a loop. It turns off and then back on to acura logo. I took the dvd cover off and tried cleaning the lens manually but not a luck. It just kept doing it.

As Will Y said, when you press the audio button, does it change the screen or does it just stay in that loop?

So after driving a little bit I found out that the navigation disclaimer screen keeps coming back on even after showing the audio. So it plays audio and after a while it will go to the disclaimer and then I have to press audio to go back into the audio screen.

Sounds like the dvd rom is on its way out. Start preparing for next steps. If you want to replace the whole system new, getting yours fixed from Alpine or trying some of the tips to fix from this forum.

Is the price still $160 something or did it raise like other people said? Do you think it also could be the disc? Is there specific part number for the dvd so I can find it somewhere else. Or can I replace just the lens as someone else suggested in a different forum

No the price for this is $258 from Alpine to be fixed. Keep in mind this is a 30 day turn around time to get your system back after sending to them. Not sure if they include a new disc with your fixed unit but I dont think its your disc. I just replaced my whole unit a week ago for the same symptoms you were having and then ended up getting a black screen. I have some links for DIY fixes from here I will add in a second.

There is no specific part for the disk. I believe you have an orange one. You can use any orange disk and it will work for your system.

This link seems to be something to try as far as the lens https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=873489

Alpine info just in case
