need help with my ipod touch

I want to be able to hook my ipod touch up to my headrest monitors so i can play movies or have the game apps display on the monitor. I purchase the audio/video cable and hooked it up but nothing is showing. Do I need to set something up on the ipod touch? Any help would be greatful. I have a road trip tomorrow and want to load up some movies for my kids.

make sure you have the video out enabled for movies, as far as having the apps screen and home screen show up, there is an application you have to download and install to "clone" the screen so both are visible.

is it a new iTouch? or a really old one? If it is a new one you HAVE to buy the Apple cord. There is a chip in the new cords that allow video play back..

csmeance is talking about "screeenspltr" You can only get this program if your iTouch is jailbroken.

I am currently using my iPhone 3GS to do what you want. I need to know more details about your iTouch and monitors before I can help you.
