need help installing FM Modulator

I've been searching the forum for hours now and can't find a solution. I have an 02 TL Type S w/out Navi. Just bought a kenwood music keg and a FM modulator (not wireless) to use with the factory radio. To get power to the FM modulator i need to connect a red wire to the ignition and a yellow wire to the battery. Where can i find the Ignition wire and the battery wire in the car? First time installing please help.

Hopefully this doesn't come out too harsh sounding cause really I don't mean it like that... but you might find a better answer to your question on the Second Gen Forums. This is the 2004 and 2005 TL forum. They are different cars.

Also you might want to try the Manual for your car I AM SURE that there is a manual out there that has this information in there.

Again dont mean to sound harsh, but this is the wrong forum.

You dont have to connect directly to the ignition switch. You can tap off the fuse box. Auto zone sells something that you can add an additional fuse so you won't have a problem.
For the red you'll need a fuse that would be switched off when the car is off, I tapped off the airbag fuse.
For the yellow you'll need a fuse that would be live all the time, for this you'll have to talk to a second gen'r to get which fuse to tie into.
Or you can buy a voltmeter and find which one is live all the time when the car is off.

Andy - You tapped off the airbag fuse??!?!

You're a braver man than I .. I'd be afraid that one spike or bad ground out and POOF!!! I'd be looking at the world's biggest kernel of pop-corn coming out of my steering wheel.

I think we have two empty slots on the inside fusebox, have you already used those?? They would've been my first choice.

I did this in my 2000 accord, no problems. Looking back on it I probably should have found another switched ignition source.
