I've heard of some instances, but not many since most people (after searching and browsing the forum) will know what to expect when getting their car tinted.

So I have no problems with Solar Gard NR film.

Welcome to the forum!

Well, once you get your car tinted, you'll start wanting to mod your car more.

Just remember to find a place that will do the quarter windows all the way and will add felt/moleskin.

For the DVD and backup camera, check out the Sponsored Sales and Group Buys subforum and look for Dom's TVandNav2Go module. There is currently a group buy for it - $125. You'll need that for dvd and backup camera.

I have seen vague references to this. What is the issue with the quarter windows and why wouldn't they tint them all the way? Also, do lots of people really paint their rear window? I would be very afraid of doing this.

Some tinters are lazy or cannot place the film to the edge of the rear quarter windows. So you will have film that covers only a portion of the quarter window and a gap of untinted window left over.

I've never heard of painted rear windows. This is a first for me.

I think Rpappi is referring to painting either the XM radio antenna wire or the third brake light wire. I'll have to look back there. He didn't mean painting the window. I hope.

If you use ceramic tint (Formula1) rather than metallic then it will not affect the antenna.
