So I have 2007 tl type s 6spd and I’ve been looking for a new radio, but I have seen that once you get a new radio the navigation screen doesn’t work. I was wondering does that mean the check engine code doesn’t pop up on the screen when a check engine light comes on cause that’s saved me a few times now. Don’t really use the navigation Just want to know if the codes would still pop up on the screen even though the navigation doesn’t work. Thank you

 

I have replaced the stock radio with a new CarPlay model. The nav screen works but there is no audio. I needed to run a few extra wires and a resistor jumper.

 

You had to run the the extra wires and the resistor for the audio from the navigation or for the radio. If it’s for the navigation don’t think I would miss it.
