We have an 06 TL and love it. We need a used SUV to compliment the TL since our first child is on the way. I like the Pilot (MDX a bit too pricey), and it would be nice to have a Nav that is very similar to our TL. But the Pilot's nav uses the Black disc up until the 06 model. This is the same nav as the 2003 and earlier TL (at least it uses the same disc).

Can anyone tell me what improved between the 2003 and 2004 TL nav, so I can understand how the Pilot's nav differs?

 

An all newly designed Honda Pilot is coming out this Spring. If you can wait a few months, you'll likely get a more updated Nav system.

 

Gotta buy a used one, around 2004-2005 model. Still paying off the TL and don't need another new car payment.

That's a good idea. I've seen a lot of equipment that lists support for both 2G TL's and current Honda Pilots.

 

Never mind. Last weekend we took advantage of the huge lease special going on with 2008 Pilots (expires today), so we have the newer-generation nav! It doesn't have nav traffic like the new TL's, but it does have the better graphics, speed, Zagat, and improved voice recognition. Very nice!
