Navigation problem

Is there any way to get a 2007 tl navigation system back to its default settings if neither the touchscreen or toggle switch works.

You could try to disconnect the battery but you'll need the radio and nav codes.

Thought about that but unless I know for sure it would reset the defaults i wouldn't take the chance because I wouldn't have a way of inputting navi code.

What happened to make the screen unresponsive? If you can't input anything anyway it doesn't really matter if you can't input the code right? You could try to disconnect the screen from the back then reconnect it but you'll have to take the console apart.

The toggle switch did work but got disabled. That's what I need to get reset.Right now my screen comes up and gets to the OK prompt but I can't get pass this point.I just think there should be some type of media recovery for this type of problem.

Yes the radio is still hooked up.The only thing that doesn't work is map display. I can still do voice commands (exp: display audio). Unfortunately there isn't a voice command to activate the OK response to get to map display.

It sounds like the screen will probably have to be repaired or replaced. I would try to unplug the battery to see if it resets anything...unless there are some functions you'll lose by not being able to enter the code.

I was going to replace screen at a later date or when I could find a great deal. It was cracked when I bought car so it never worked for me but the toggle switch worked so I could use navi. Not now though. I don't know what functions I would lose so that is why I haven't done the battery thing. Thought about just disconnecting it at the dvd unit itself too.Anyway thanks for your input and will research this a little longer before I pull the power.

My nav won't work only about 1 in 20 times I start the car (although it hasn't worked the last three times). It is still the original disk, so I think I'll give that a shot first before I go sending my Nav anywhere...

Thought I would let you know I decided to take a chance and disconnect the battery. I did and got my toggle switch function back. I am now a happy camper. Will keep looking for a good deal on a touchscreen and eventually replace it.
