Navigation OWNERS read here!

This question for Navi owners.... I plan to purchase one with Navi... is there a monthly charge for obtaining a Navi? I've never owned a car with navi before... not sure if it's worth it.... for those of you got a Navi... please give me your opinion the GOOD VS BAD of having a Navi!!

thanks

I too wondered this before, because I never had a car w/ navi. There is no monthly fee, just when a new update is offered for the dvd program.

I don't think there is any bad/negative aspects of having the navi, besides the price for getting it as an option.

I wish it had or was able to be upgraded to the navi on the '05 RL which gives you real time traffic conditions during your commute. It works in conjunction w/ the XM radio.

No monthly charge for navi. I don't even need a map update as I haven't run into a street in the last year it didn't know.

Good - everything especially the voice control, bad - nothing.

I love the Navi, and have been long winded at times about the reasons why...

As demonstrated... here.

Didn't see that coming!

The only bad thing about the navi is that it has so many functions you spend a lot of time playing with it while your driving. I've been so distracted learning all the features we've had a couple of close calls. My wife won't let me play with it now unless I'm parked. I guess I'll have to get the owners manual out and learn the voice commands. Get it! It's worth a couple thousand just in entertainment value.

So what you're saying is that you spend a lot more time parked now, eh?

Holy crap!!! What is the sales tax in your area? My sales tax alone on my TL was over $2,000! If yours is similar, and you STILL managed to get your TL out the door for $32k, then you got a fantastic deal!
