Navigation issue
Hello all. I am helping someone with an issue on a 2004 TSX. When you start the car, the Acura navigation page comes up, but it doesn't go past it. After a couple minutes, it will reset but still not go past the page. I unplugged/plugged in the battery with no help. Also, it did not ask for Nav or radio codes. Then I took the DVD out, cleaned it (it was dirty) and reinstalled. No help. Then I unplugged the DVD unit then plugged back in. Now it will start up correctly, can access all pages, but only for a few minutes and then it goes back to the Acura Navigation page. Does anyone have any other suggestions

A few members have taken apart their 3G TL Navi DVD drives and replaced parts, as described in the applicable threads.
The other options are a flat-fee fix by shipping the Navi drive to Alpine in Torrance, CA, repair by a car-stereo repair shop or repair by an Acura dealership(which will charge a premium to send the drive to Alpine's Torrance facility).

IIRC, there's also a radio shop on the East Coast that does the same thing, for around $400-ish.
Otherwise, check this lengthy thread for resolving 3G TL Navi issues: https://acurazine.com/forums/audio-b...errors-873489/.
Drive replacement part numbers are after post #175 or so.

Alpine charges $358 as a flat fee, and does the problem diagnosis and repair, whether it's one part or a dozen parts-- owners mail/ship Alpine the Navi drives with the Navi DVDs, and get back perfectly working drives.
