for some weird reason my navigation doesn't switch between night and day time when it's on the automatic setting... anyone have a similar problem?

what do you have your "dim/bright" switch set to? the switch to the left of your steering wheel.

 

It's because you have your interior/dashboard lights set on Max. Dim the lights (button onn dashboard) and make sure your navi setting is on auto. I had the same problem a while ago and figured it out myself. Hope this helps.
