My navigation is strating to give me some problems and I'm hesitant to take it to the dealer and get ripped off. Basically, it takes a while for it to actually start and the map and menu to appear. I first noticed a few weeks ago that there were horizontal lines moving in the background. The system worked fine so I did not give it much thought.

Sometimes the Navigation won't even start and I get an error message to take it the dealer. Has anyone experienced this and can provide advice.

 

Many people are having issue with the navigation unit failing. The waving lines could point to the display but if it's not booting and telling you to take it in, then it's probably not the display.

If you want to avoid the dealer and you are sure it's the navi unit (there are diags you can run). The info to send it in is:

Or you could by a video interface and just use it as a screen too.
