I tried searching other threads but couldn't find what I was looking for.

The navigation DVD player went out in my 06" Acura TL and I called around and called Alpine they all said said between $500 and $700 to have it repaired. I wanted to know If I buy a used one will I need that navigation DVD players security code? or is the security code only for the radio?

 

If you buying a used DVD drive then yes you will need the new code.

Guessing you've solved your issue by now, but if not, you can replace the drive mechanism in the DVD player for cheap (mine was under $50).

Search in the 1st gen RDX forum and you'll find a post I made about it.
