Navigation DVD?
Navigation DVD?
How can I tell what version the DVD is for my Navigation system? Is there a menu to go through on the screen that has the info? If not can you eject the DVD from the trunk unit like on a computer or the cars audio unit? What is the latest version of the DVD and has anyone ordered an update? Is this something I can do myself or is it a dealer required service? Thanks. Steve

The new NAV DVD is 4.62 and is available only to dealers right now to retrofit current TL's on their lot. TL owners should be able to purchase the DVD for $185 possibly at the end of March or April. You can order the disc yourself from Alpine.
Thanks for the quick responses. So I can just order the disk and install it myself? Just pop it in and I'm done? The system then auto-boots and/or configures? I'll look tomorrow to see where the eject button is located. Doing it myself won't cause a warranty issue?

If you go to your trunk, open the black cover that covers up the navi drive, it is located in the right corner of the trunk. After you open it up, you will see the drive. There is a cover with a little tab on it, press down on the tab and the entire bar the tab is connected to will slide down, revealing the dvd slot and the eject button.

Update from Alpine.
Guys, just for the heck of it, I called Alpine yesterday to inquire as to when vehicle owners can purchase the new Navigation Disc. They said it should be around the first of April. If that is true, we're only a week or so away.
turn key to ON- open trunk- eject disc- insert disc and auto reboots- does not hurt saved addresses
You order the disc thru the acura.com website- with your VIN number so they get the right disc to you.
Each year and model has different color disc to identify it and then a version number. ..keeps alpine in business forever creating different disc.
The order is filled direct from Alpine, but you cant walk into a store and buy one.
Everyone should be registered with Acura anyway

from there you look at Stores (for the disc) or Recalls or Mechandise- Tech Info --all sorts of stuff for the acura owner
