Navi is very confused about night/day...
Hi,
My navi seems to be very confused and disoriented as to when it is night and when its day. I usually find that it will stay in daylight mode and very bright up until almost 10pm or later (it gets dark around 6:30pm here). Even 2AM it will light up bright. The only way i found around this was to set it myself to night mode or to set the console brightness down from maximum (which i dont want to do).
how can i get that little bulb on my dash to better understand when it is night and when it is day?
thank you for your help!

Well, that's the way its supposed to work. Essentially if its on max brightness, its not going to change anything, despite the Navi setting. Just turn down the console brightness by one notch and you'll have the desired behavior.

^^ i dont think the navi can change from day/night mode automatically
you have to turn the headlights on and keep the console brightness under max
or select it from the menu setup

When the headlights are on, the navi screen can either be in day or night mode, even with the dash at full brightness. To toggle between day and night on the navi, just press the "max" button on the dash when the headlights are on.

Right the switch is not automatic - it is dependant on the settings you have set - (default is that day and night is based on the headlights on or off)

Keep Right Except to Pass
One thing that's been omitted is that the Navi brightness control (in the Setup menu) has an "Auto" mode. This means that if you turn on your headlights, AND the dash lights are set to anything less than the maximum brightness, the Navi goes into "Night" mode, and if you turn off your headlights, it goes into "Day" mode.
You do not need to turn your dash lights to the maximum brightness if you turn off your headlights, as that should happen automatically.

acutally, in the tl, the max setting on the dash near the steering wheel controls the navi, not the setup thing on the navi.
