Navi Upgrade???

Hello All

New to the forum. And loving it so far!!!

I plan on purchasing an "04" TL without Navi. But I'd Like to install a NAVI later after purchae.

The price they excepted for the car was very good. $22,500 with 28000 miles on it. Pearl white with a wing.

My question is.

Are the Navi units just plug and play? Or is there some reprograming from the dealer involved with them?

I saw some online for as little as $800.

thanx for all replies.

I think the NAV install is more than just the front screen. There is a dvd drive that goes in the back as well. So there are a bunch of wires and the screen and install and its not an easy thing from what I've read.

If you don't get the car with NAV you might want to research getting an after market nav system installed. Maybe that would give more features.

ugh. here's some advice: if u want the nav, buy the car with the nav already in it!!!!!!!!!!

the nav install is complicated. u have to install the wires, harnesses and also the nav unit and the dvd player which is located in the trunk. run a search in the "audio and electronics and nav" section, there are a few dudes on this forum that have already done it. it's gonna run u at least $1500?, probably more like $2000.

This thread has been moved from the Performance Parts & Modifications subforum to the proper forum. Please read The "Modifications" in "Performance Parts & Modifications" announcement at the top of the Performance Parts & Modifications subforum for a full explanation.

Please search before posting. A keyword search for "conversion" will bring up a few good threads. The 3G TL Audio & Electronics FAQ has two good links for you.

Good luck!
