Navi/Trip Comp questions

Hey guys, I know this has probably been asked but the search words I used didn't bring me the answers I wanted.

First, I know the dealer showed me how to get the distance to empty to show up on my trip computer, but for the life of me I can't find it anymore. How do I access that display? Second, is there any way on the navigation system to show what time you are expected to arrive at your destination instead of total time remaining? As in, it shows you will arrive at 4:30 PM instead of 1 hr 15 mins to destination.

I have a 2008 TL-S btw. Thanks in advance.

you go to trip computer, and browse using the select button. As for the navi, my 04 shows time remaining.

Go to Trip Computer, then press the DOWN button.

Thx Blue. That did it. But anyone have an answer for showing expected time of arrival rather than time remaining on the navi?

I don't believe there is any option to do this. Among other things, I don't believe the Navi knows where the time zone boundaries are (the time is determined from the GPS independently of the Navi map insofar as I understand), so you'd risk an inaccurate reading anyway. I know there is a voice command for "How long to the destination?," but I don't see much point in using that command when the same information is on the screen in front of you.

Also, remember that the estimated time to the destination is based on the Navi's data on speed limits. If you go through an unverified area, that area is estimated based on 25 mph. So for most of us, assuming no traffic issues and no toilet/lunch stops, the time-to-destination is probably a pessimistic estimate.

I just looked at the Navi manual online and it did not list any command to show an actual clock time instead of time remaining. (I would have edited my post to add this point, but apparently five minutes have passed. Stupid rule.)

Dangit. Ok thx for the detailed answer 1995hoo. It's just that my friend and I always compare our cars jokingly (he has an IS250) and that minor option was one of the things he had on me. Guess I'll have to be satisfied rubbing his face into my 3.5L V6. His keyless start system and airconditioned seats are nice though.
