i ran a search and nothing came up, hope its not a repost.
after you get into the special menu by holding map guide/menu/cancel press and hold menu again and it will take you to another screen where one of the features is to change map color day and night, also adjusts guidance voice and couple of other things.

 

You don't need to go into the diagnostic menu, simply hit the "Setup" button on the Nav unit and it will have several pages of options. It is located in there.

 

tavo34, thanks for the info. I do know about that hidden feature, but never play around with that yet.

I shouldl try to play with it this weekend and figure out how to make colors changed. Since it has default buttons there, I don't need to worry about the total screw-up.





stocks2k, are you talking about that color change option in one of pages of Setup Menu?

 

That is exactly what I am talking about. Are you all referencing something differnt that is actually located in the diagnostic screen?

 

The one you're referring isn't really working well with color changed. It won't really change the background color, but some buttons' color only.

The new trick is to enter the hidden configuration of Navi Mode to modify its default display setting. However, I'm not sure if that would work. I played it last Dec. and found nothing. Maybe I just need to change more setting in order to make it work.

Does the diagnostic menu work on older models?

 

I've found that it DOES change the background color (on the menus, not on the map screen). It's just that the differences in the colors are VERY subtle. It seems to be easiest to see on the audio screen. Change it to to a dark color like blue, then to red, and you'll see a VERY SLIGHT difference in the shade of the background color of the menus.

alright so everyone knows this is not the option you get from regular setup button (thanks rets) this is a dealer only diagnostic menu which has been covered before. it does change the color of the map background . for example night mode is black you can change that black to any color you choose. you will have to change it from the bottom left part of the screen where the R B G settings are then press set. but it seemed when i turned off the car and started again settings were gone, and default does change settings back to default.

 

The key sequence to get to the diagnositc menu is the same as my 01 Cls. So nothing has been changed
