Navi Setting + Gauge Brightness

Quick question guys, last night I noticed when I turned the lights on in my car, the navi does what its supposed to (switches from day to night, as I have the setting on auto), but i realized the gauge brightness actually decreased for some reason, then when I turned off the lights, the navi went back to day setting, and max brightness was restored for the gauge brightness setting. Does any1 know how to work around this so the max bright. setting is not switched back and forth when turning off/on lights / going from day/night and vice versa in navi?

Thanks in advance.

the reason it dims is so the lights are not so bright that you loose night time vision. The eye reacts to lighting conditions, when its bright the pupils shrink, and when dark enlarge. Well when the gauges dim, it allows the eyes to enlarge so you can see in the dark better. If you kept it on max, you wouldn't be able to see the road as well.

The only way around this is to have the MAX button pushed when you turn on the headlights, and then go to the setup option on the navi and change it to night mode.

OP's other choice is to set the brightness 1 bar/step down from full bright- the difference between "day" and "night" IP lighting will then be minimal while the Navi will still switch to night mode when the headlight switch is used.
