Ok my navi keeps rebooting. It keeps loading and shutting off. then navi will stay on if the car is off in 1st and 2nd key position if the car is on the navi keeps turning on and off constantly restarting. any one have this problem and solved it ? i would like more info thanks!!!

This happened to me in the last month and I had to send it in to Alpine (the manufacturer) to get it repaired. It's a $385 flat fee to get it repaired. It seems like a lot, but considering that getting a new navigation unit for the trunk costs over $2,000, it's well worth it if you use your navigation system regularly.

In my case, the power control board was malfunctioning so they replaced it. Now my navigation doesn't get stuck in a bootloop like before.

 

Just replaced the drive mechanism today due to error messages. It was pretty easy to change and cost me $160 with shipping. There is a long thread on here about how to do it.

I get this in cold weather. I live in canada and we know what winter feels like. About mid fall to mid spring i have the problem. I usually just take out the disk because it keeps resetting my music every minute or so. Dont really care, i have every navigation system i need on my smartphone

 

how long did shipping take since the item is in china?
