So my battery died yesterday and my navi and radio resetted. Installed a new battery and turned the car on. The screen said "Please Wait. Downloading Software." something along those lines. Waited about 10-15 minutes with the car running then it asked me for the navi code (also entered the radio code. Radio works fine). Entered the code and navi turned on but it's no longer accurate and the red arrow just keeps on moving without the car even moving and when it tries to speak, I just hear popping noises from the speaker on the dash.
I went to an acura dealer and the guy went to this screen. He said all are suppose to be green. I have no idea why two of them are red. Any ideas?
my navi failed today, just like yours. could it be the cold weather in Canada these days? XD...there are plenty of threads talking about Navi/HFL, don't let the dealer repair cuz they would charge $$$, try to fix it yourself
Do you have any idea on how to fix this? And yeah, it did this when it started to get cold. It never gave me problems before.
I took it to the dealer and they want $120 just to look at it.
unfortunately I don't I don't know much about car fixing... I did some research on AZ, someone claimed that it's navigation module problem. You'll need to take the module out from the roof (where Homelink buttons located), and change some capacitors on it. I'll let you know once I had the problem solved(hopefully). Also I will take it to dealer to see if they can check it for free
Please let me know if you do. I know how to take that module out. I just don't understand how that's connected to the navi. I unplugged it and made no difference. If that really is the problem, I'll just buy that part and install it myself. I don't feel like going to the dealer, wait 2 hours for a 20 minute job, and pay an arm and a leg.
Would having a bad HFL module mess up the navi? The thing by the map light is what killed my battery. I got a new battery and the map light area was warm when I left the car for a few hours. I unplugged it and my battery didn't drain anymore.
The HFL mic is used for voice commands for the Navi, audio and climate control, but IDK if removal of the HFL otherwise affects the functionality of the Navi.
