Hello. I recently picked up an '06 MT Navi with a malfunctioning DVD drive and no discs. I took it to my local Acura dealership and they told me that they tried their discs to no avail, and that my DVD drive was bad. I called up Alpine and they wanted to charge over $400 plus tax for me to mail it in for a fix. Plus the cost of discs. Honestly I could do without Navi since I use google maps anyways, and $400 is ridiculous for 10 year old tech.

If I wanted to replace the navi with a non navi radio, would I have to replace the whole radio or just the display? The display/temp control screen can be had for much cheaper than the whole set, and I'm working on a tight budget.
