Question Navi - Map Movements - Delay by 2-3 seconds

Sorry guys..I've tried a few searches and couldn't find anything.

I have an 04 with Navi.

I just noticed that the movement of the A symbol on the map is kinda slow.

For example, a street intersection would be coming up, on the map.
The I noticed that I actually passed the intersection before the A symbol passes the intersection on the display map. Seems like a delay of 2/3 seconds.

Is this happening to anyone else?
Or is there a way I can correct this thru the Navi setup?

I tried, but couldn't find any settings where I can change this?

its so hard to explain...hope you guys understand what I'm trying to say.

Thanks

re-sync.

kill the battery for about 10 minutes, re-hook it up. start the car in an OPEN area and dont move for a few minutes.

thanks...

Is it just me or any one else experience this?

Will this work for sure?

Any thing else I need to do besides re-hooking the battery? (press any buttons on the nav?)

What is the cause of this not sync?

nah, when you turn the car back on, it will say something on the screen about being in an open area, and not moving for like 3-4 minutes while it calibrates.

you can use the NAVI function screen, which may have a diagnostic that tells you if you are having a serious problem... im not sure how to access it... you press two buttons at the same time... i think info & cancel or something. not sure which 2. but that will diagnose the hardware

you probably just need to re-sync... think about it, car is 3 years old, and it might have never been recalibrated, as people seldom remove or disconnect their battery

push the MAP, MENU and CANCEL buttons for 5 seconds. You can go thru the menus for diagnostics and stuff. If you want to have it functioning right, you can either reset the car by pulling the battery or you can do it from the navi. Not sure on how to do it in the navi off the top of my head, but i can find later on today.

Try driving to a major hwy near you that is digitized. This may allow the satellites to reposition your car accurately on the navi map. It worked for me.
