Go to setup...vehicle settings, and recalibrate the gps to your current position.

Where is "Vehicle Settings?" Is that something the 05 NAV is doesn't have?

The posters are referring to the Nav System Setup, which is accessed through the "Setup/info" button to the left of the Nav joystick. Adjustment of the vehicle location is on screen 4, per the Nav manual for '05: https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/...505NMAINID.pdf

If that adjustment does not work for OP, then something else is wrong-- maybe check for metallic window tint on the car, as the tint supposedly blocks the GPS signals.
G/L.

I found that but it just takes me to a map where I can choose a location and rotate. I'm not sure how that will calibrate my location. Wouldn't that just give me a chance to choose the wrong location and worsen my location? Sorry to sound to ignorant but is there a way to "auto-calibrate" the GPS? I'm failing to see the point of me choosing my own location on a map to calibrate it...

Here is what I have going on. The GPS takes minutes to obtain a good signal (GPS text turns white to green), is this normal? So while it doesn't have a signal my location is totally crazy off plus the North-pointing is wrong too. I don't have metallic tint either. I have normal black tint and I don't think it's made of metal!

Did you resently upgrade your disk?

I did and now it always gets lost. It is horribly frustrating. It seem sI have to relocate my position once a week!

The GPS is supposed to auto calibrate; the use of the calibration in the setup mode is to adjust the arrow so the GPS shows your position accurately if the auto-calibration is consistently off. I assume the Nav is calibrated once and left alone thereafter.

My Nav automatically locates the car within a few seconds of pressing "OK" on the warning screen, except where I am beneath more than 2 levels of garage/other cars or in a tunnel where the GPS signals cannot penetrate. Once the car is outdoors, it is located in seconds.

Also, if you touch the arrow within the circle showing your location on the screen, it will switch the orientation of the map, between "North on top" and your car's forward direction on top.

If the manual and this post don't help, drop by the dealership and have it either calibrate or fix whatever is wrong. G/L!

hmmm, would it happen to matter if I just moved to a tiny city in the middle of nowhere? Does the GPS have "dead spots" of communication?

I have the same problem in mine, but it only happens sporadically, it will show me driving on an expressway when I have clearly exited or it will show me in the gray zone and not on a street but moving parallel to the street that i'm really on.

It usually fixes itself after I look away and just start cussing for 5 mts. and then I look back at the screen and its back on track.
