Step 1: turn on your headlights
Step 2: on the right side of the steering wheel(dash area) turn that light down
Step 3: turn off your lights

Make sure the MAX Brightness setting is NOT turned on. Its located just to the upper left of the steering wheel.

Also, if the TL's NAVI settings are like my Accord's:

Under setup make sure AUTO is selected for the display and that day and night each have their own colors set.

Welcome to azine!
register your car with acura at 1-800-382-2238x5
and on https://www.ahm-ownerlink.com/login.asp?brand=acura
then read the online owners manual for more help.

AUTO for the nav is tied to the headlights normally- lights on means darkness, so lower screen brightness, though my car is older so yours may vary
