Navi and errant bread crumbs

I've searched the threads regarding "bread crumb" issues and didn't find my problem, so I'm posting it now.

About a week ago I programmed my navi to go to a few places in my town. The navi went wacky...first it didn't give me the right direction, actually had me go in the opposite direction. Then after I changed direction I was on a road that is in the navi, but the display showed me traveling "next" to the road (basically through houses) and dropping bread crumbs.

This hasn't happened again, but what should I do? I can't recreate the problem but I can show the errant bread crumbs. Should I push for a new CD? something else?

You can calibrate your position from the setup screen I think. Try doing this and it will never happen. Also, you can erase the bread crumbs from the setup too.

If I remember correctly, you get rid of the bread crumbs by going into setup, turning off bread crumbs. Returning to the Nav Map screen. Then they will be erased. You can then go back into setup and re-enable bread crumbs if you want. If you don't go off road, though, there really is no point in keeping them on.

I have had this happen a couple of times. I suspect that it occurs most often when you come out of an underground garage, particularly one with a circular driveway, in an area with tall buildings which makes it difficult for the car to pick up the GPS signals. The car is initially fooled as to it currents position and then it takes so long to pick up the GPS signal that it starts laying down bread crumbs because it believes it is travelling a considerable distance from a mapped road. Once it picks up the GPS signal and corrects its position the bread crumbs have already been laid down. As discussed in a previous post they can be eliminated but you will eliminate all bread crumbs not just the ones that you would prefer not to have.
