Navi/Dash Clock Sync MEGATHREAD (UPDATE: all should be fixed now)
I searched the forum and noticed people encountered similar problems but the resolution was not posted.
I've gone through the Navi menu and tried to adjust the clock. The Navi clock changes, but the clock on the dash doesn't.
The problem started when I changed my battery. I did notice when I started the car with the new battery the Navi was installing new software. Any body run into this issue?

I ended up getting slightly sidetracked last night. Since I already had the GPS receiver accessible, and figured out enough about the message format... it looked really easy to just throw in an MCU to intercept/modify the data. So I gave it a try, and it works!
Of course the goal is to apply a fix to the native navigation unit software, but since I can confirm that this works, I'm confident that it'll work if I can get the navigation unit to simply modify that data when it arrives.
Not that I expect anyone else to do this (nor do I even recommend it), but I'll throw the code up on Github in case anyone's interested in checking it out. It's running on a PIC16 MCU... the code just BARELY fit (including the <time.h> functions ate up ~90% of the flash, but it made converting the date only a few lines of code! :-) ). It uses a signed 32-bit time_t though, so you're on your own in 2038. ;-) These MCUs do come in really small packages, so it'd be easy to make a small PCB that sits between the GPS receiver and navigation unit motherboard... but that's just a backup plan if I can't figure out how to do it in the navigation unit software.
Few pics below for those interested.

Hi there. When you set the time on the Navi the time is indicated on the navigation screen. Presumably, after that is modified the time on the display above that navi would also be updated. After all, the manual says these times will sync. But after changing the time on the navi screen the primary time display remains unchanged.

Not much use a "clock". I mean who is going to keep their Navi screen on *that* screen?
BTW - I checked mine today and both clocks are the same/synchronized.

i posted on the same problem several months ago when i first got the car and i took it to the dealer who told me that i needed to upgrade my version disc because an 04 version was installed, which may very well be the case since the dealer i brought it from (non-acura) had several in his lot. in either case, the problem still exists but that seems to be the only problem with the disc not being the correct version so i've been trying to stick it out instead of shelling out the cash for the newer version, which might just have been an excuse to get me to buy the disk. o well.

I've had the car since 04. The dash clock and Navi clock were synchronized until I changed my battery. Last night I disconnected my battery again with the hopes that somehow it will re-synch itself after resetting. But that didn't work.

I didn't notice if the colon is blinking I'll check when I get in my car after work. The dash clock is working because the time changes.
Yes, I tried ejecting the disk and reloading it.

Has anyone come up with a fix for this?
Just to sum up - dash clock is out of sync w/ the GPS clock. Resetting GPS, reloading DVD and disconnecting the battery does not resync. Seems like the GPS is not talking to the dash clock.

when it starts up do you have the honda navi screen or the acura one?

So the dash clock is working, but not synchronized? How far off is the dash clock from the navi clock?
The dash clock is a dumb device ... it just displays what its told from the main display. Is there anything else malfunctioning in your car? Anything at all. If so, you may have blown a fuse and its affecting your dash clock.

Try these steps to fix your problem...
Go to your system setup (Navigation, Menu, Cancel hold all 3 buttons down simultaneously for 5 seconds)
Select the Functional Setup Button:
Then select the H/U Time Send button:
Then select the Set button:
That should do it.
Oh...and make sure your H/U Time Send is set to ON.

Dash clock problem solved
Silver Bullet - You solved it for me!
I had the same problem. The dash clock wouldn't sync with the GPS/Navi system. I tried the battery disconnect/reconnect trick; didn't work.
So - I tried Silver Bullet's suggestion and it worked!
1. Press Map/Menu/Cancel all at same time for 3-5 seconds (Diagnostic screen should appear on the Navi display)
2. Select the Functional Setup Button
3. Select the H/U Time Send Button
4. I had to toggle the On/Off setting. It was set to 'On'. So I set to 'Off' and pressed 'Set'. Then set it to 'On' and pressed 'Set' again. A few seconds later and the dash clocked synced.
Yes!

Nav clock & calendar issue
I have a 2006 Acura TL. My clock on the upper dash works perfectly fine but the clock setting in the nav. screen does not work. It shows as 0:00 and the colon symbol is not flashing. I am unable to adjust the time since the "reset" button is grayed out. So when it is time to adjust clock to daylight savings I am assuming the clock will not change even though it was set up for daylight savings
Also my calendar is not working and it is set on Jan. 2002. The "go to" today button is grayed out. I can scroll to different months but goes back to Jan. 2002 when I go back to it.
I am assuming the clock and calendar issues are related since they both did not work at the same time.
Any ideas as to why this is happening?
Thanks!!

Interesting. My upper dash clock is an hour and 15 minutes fast since reconnecting the battery which was disconnected overnight a couple of days ago. Going into Settings, Screen [4] where you're supposed to be able to set the clock, I can press buttons to my heart's content, but all I see is 00:00 no matter what.

That's basically the problem except the upper clock in my dash does display the current time. I am going to have a problem when daylight savings come and I am unable to reset the clock.
Does your calendar show the current day and month?

Navigation system doesn't know day, wont allow clock adjustment
I've had my 2005 TL since early 2006 and never ran across this before:
I still use the calendar feature in my car and went to the calendar yesterday to check something. For some reason it showed 2002 instead of 2020. I went into clock adjustment and it does not allow for any adjustments and just says 0:00. The clock in the display above the nav is still correct. It didn't allow for GPS enabled time zone or anything, the whole page of setup appears to be locked out as well. Any ideas how to remedy this and what could have caused it to do this? The disk is an original 2004 orange disk, but the Nav still performs fine.

I'm guessing the navi DVD calendar only had 15-16 years worth of "calendar" programmed into it. I'd try buying a newer disk from ebay to see if it helps.

I'm experiencing the time issue as well. I haven't messed around with anything yet other than the obvious.
