Not possible

I was told by a dealer that the upgrade was not possible because the wiring harness was different for the non-navi and navi. Might not be worth the effort vs. having it installed from factory.

Also, having the navi also upgrades the voice commands and so it's more than just the navi other components are involved.

it has been done here but honestly with the cost of the stock navi you might as well just a double din gps dvd player with a hard drive disk for a fraction of the price, also you would want to move the screen that has the temperature controls to the bottom where the 2 flip doors are...

I suggest you look for something like the following as an alternative

top of the line

You know, I went to many custom shop including JR here in Dallas and they say they cannot add those in (their reason is that the temperature is operated thru the radio...i was like REALLY? it doesnt seem so). I was suprise JR didnt want to do it since they are a huge custom shop like Unique Autosport cause they do ferrari and high end cars. I also went to Cartoys and was turned down. I was willing to spend $2,000 (a carpc is nice if someone in dallas can really do it..seem all carpc guys are in cali) but i guess it was too much work for them.

Anyone have advice to get indash installed?

Theres a guy here on the forums that did a carpc with touchscreen and all.

I will be looking into his build very soon. Looking to adapt it to a friend's show car. I do the PC end, he does the custom fitting and mounting (He used to work at earmark down in addison)

If you give me more information about him. I might as well contact him and pay him to do me a carpc =P

The guy on the forum? Don't think he's local.

If your talking about the second half of my post, then I would be the guy to contact

I'll be building fitting and configuring it and doing about 1/2 the install. The other half of the install - finish work and asthetic fine tuning will be done by someone with more patience than I

do a search for carputer, you will find threads where the guys moved the temperature controls down to where the bottom 2 little flip doors are... they also added an aftermarket touchscreen aswell...

ps. If a shop refuses to do a job then they don't want your money, honestly for that price you can fly someone in to do that for you lol, as for the actual job it isn't even that complicated, the temp control lcd is just about the same size as the flip doors
