Question Navi Add to '04 Base Model?

Hey guys,

I want to add an navigation system and have someone who wants to sell to me. Besides the code and DVD what else should I be looking for? What should I watch out for? Any help would be appreciated.

basically, its not worth the money to retrofit the factory nav into a non-nav TL.
something like $2k.

a cheaper and better option would be to retrofit a tablet into the car.
Benefits of a tab:
- Higher resolution screen.
- Better GPS (granted you either have to tether or pay for a data service)
- Songs, movies, pictures
- android ( can customize)
- cost less than $500 and some of your time

You make a great point, Justnspace. The question is which would fit? That's the only reason why I was thinking about getting the deck.

I don't recall which specific models people are using, but if you run a quick search there's plenty of threads on retrofitting a tablet. Should give you a pretty good idea of what's involved. Also, IMO that's the way to go vs. installing a factory nav unit.

Lots of Nexus 7s being installed in the dash now

It's definitely not worth to convert to the OEM navi.

Really? Didn't even know. I've gotta get info on this. I've thought of the idea but no clue on how to do anything. That's why I need anyone with expertise to help me because I so want to get this done.
