Nav issue. '07. Ideas?
Having two issues with the nav freezing up.
I have 3 addresses stored in address book 1. Sometimes when I go into the address book, instead of just displaying the 3 addresses I put in there, it'll display an additional 1 or 2. Those will either be blank, or be filled with garbage characters (@#$#@ etc). Sometimes when the additional addresses are blank, it'll put a row of umlauted y's (ÿ) below the "select an address" line in the white box. When this happens, the system freezes. It doesn't respond to any button presses including cancel. But if I hit the audio button, and then cancel out of that, it will usually go back to the map screen, and usually if I pull up the address book again, things will work fine.
The second issue seems to only happen at night, around 8:30, about 45 seconds after I start the car. As I'm turning onto the road, the map freezes. The diagnostic screens tell me the GPS is still tracking the satellites, and registering the position of the car, but the map itself isn't updating it. The F-CAN screen displays an active error, and "1F4" in the meter box. All other diagnostics return normal. To clear the frozen map, I have to (ironically) enter the address book and select an address. Once it calculates the route, the map updates, and I can cancel the route to get back to regular map display.
Of course, the dealership says they can't replicate any of this, and I suspect they'll keep saying that until the warranty expires. Anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

Nav Drive could be the problem .. You should drive it straight to the dealer when the address thing pops up.. or take pics and video of it at the very least and show them.. also take pics of the diagnostic screen when it fails.. just to prove to them it happens..
I've already done pics of both. They'll be getting copies when I take it in again. As for driving it to them when it breaks - - I'm usually driving at night when no one's there anyway when it happens, so it hasn't been an option so far.
