Not sure what you're asking thus not sure what to tell you ... are you asking us for suggestions as to what you should do?

I'm guessing the only thing you'd be able to do is replace the unit ... I'm assuming you don't want to purchase a new one - maybe you can snatch one from a junkyard if at all? Perhaps you can ship it to alpine as well to determine if they can fix it for a nominal fee

damm brot so u think if i send it to alpine they k cant fiexd cuz its water damage... so ehat u think if i push a different one like 1004 o 2005 u think is gonna work ?

technically it should ... the thing is though that over time many, if not all, the units have been failing - creating scratches/scuffs on the discs themselves due to some problem with the units themselves over time. If you're purchasing an 04 or 05 unit, you may come across this eventually as well in which you'd then need to send it off to alpine to have it fixed (I sent my unit yesterday to have mine fixed as well lol - 06 acura tl)

you can send it to Alpine all you desire but,I highly suggest addressing the issue of water in the trunk first.

Have you inspected the rubber weather strips on the side of the trunk? Water normally runs through it which sounds to me it may need to be replaced.

i'm gonna thread jack for a minute here, sorry...

my 07 tl-s navigation is exhibiting the classic "scratches" around the cd perimiter and i'm getting the error message on the nav screen.

is there any other way to fix this issue besides sending alpine $158?

has anybody taken the nav unit apart and done anything with it?
