thanks for the props man, those wheels put a nice dent in my wallet, but once i saw them i knew i had to have them. i cleared the sidemarkers myself thanks to the help in the tl garage. it was pretty simple.

WOW jpt. Yowzers?

That's one of the sickest installs i've ever seen. Kudos to all your time and effort. How'd you even venture to do all that yourself? Have you built systems before (sure looks like it)?

Btw, how wide are the mayas and what size are the tires? Is there any rubbing? Are you on stock suspension?

Sorry for the uber long post, your car is BANANAS

since HFL and navi use center speaker, the remote_on signal is always high even HU is turned off (HFL and navi still work with HU off), but HU sends amp_mute to amp to turn off other channels.

you could make a realy to turn off some amps except the one for center if you want... although the amp_mute signal is very weak and you may need to amplify it with a transistor or something to be able to switch a relay... It can't switch my high sensitivity 5V 313 Ohm relay.

Well, I just installed the JL 500/1 into my system (the small Boston GT22 I was using sucked for sub). I realized that the 500/1 has a auto-turn on signal-sensing feature which will look for signal at the input and turn on automatically. It also then outputs 12V at the trigger wire terminal which can in-turn turn on other amps. I am going to try that. That would be a perfect remote trigger. Don't need to run anything from the head unit or amp.

I also realized I had one of these (TR-4) lying around. This can also grab signal from one of the speaker outputs and create a 12V trigger for an amp (or amps). I will likely use this since after I install the 3sixty, I'll need a trigger for the 3sixty itself.

Just following up on the 12V trigger thing... :P

The advantage with the 3sixty is that is has both a subwoofer and center channel input. Therefore all 6 channels in the TL are taken care of. With the Cleansweep, it has only 4-channels so your center and sub aren't taken care of.

yes! it is better, like zax123 said all 6 chanels will be taken care of and given a good clean signal. the clean sweep only gives you 4 channels not good in a 5.1 audio system. the 3sixty is a good processor, it will give your amps a really good clean clear signal.

come on it's not that hard, just build a box w/ the right angle. the mirrored sides and the 3/4" plexi were pre cut by a plastics supply store just give them the correct dimensions. use liquid nails (adheasive) to glue the mirrored plexi to the inside. use 3/4 rubber weather strip between the wood and the plexi glass, for an air tight seal. drill the plexi and screw down carefully. really not that hard, just takes alittle skill

Hey, very nice system and install. I'm currently working on mine and had a question regarding the Dynamat on the doors. Did you remove the factory white plastic, or did you apply the Dynamat directly over it?

yes, i removed the plastic, you should too if you want the dynamat to work. just cut out small slits for the wire harnesses, and the door handle screw, and don't cover any of the holes used by the plastic clips that are on the door panel.

i don't know if they're better but they are crazy loud! w/ eardrum shattering highs! they're they are rated at 170 max watts. im giving them the right amount of power w/ the jl 450/4. cost was around $350. im sure focals are good too but anything in that price range will give you the highs you want. just make sure you're giving them the power they need.

How did you mount the front of the speaker box to the back of the backseat or did you? I see that new board you put inbetween the seat and the trunk but how did you mount the speaker box to that? I am assuming you sealed off any air from the sub getting into the trunk....right.

This set up rocks!!!

in that same pic you see the board, you can also see that the floor is wood also. i made a seperate floor so everything would ne level. i screwed the box down to that using some brackets.

i'll post some pics later of it uncovered, so you see what i mean.

on the back side of the ski pass or rear seat (trunk) there is two scews holding the panel in place. remove the screws on the bottom, then you can take the whole thing out . if you look at the side of the panel, you'll see a long metal pin holding the door on, remove that pin then put the panel back. that's it! i didn't put it back, i wanted a bigger opening for my speaker to fire into the cabin.

Where did you get the 3sixty? How much did that cost you? I also want a 3sixty, and was wondering, can you still use all the standard functions, like the handsfree, nav w/ voice and all that? does it auto-mute them still? or have to manually turn it down? And can you still use the standard volume control from teh HU instead of the master from teh 3sixty? And lastly, it does include the software to tune w/ your palm right?

i got it from brandnamez.com for $230 shipped, all the oem functions are all retained. everything works like normal. yes you can still use the standard volume control from hu or steering wheel, all the software is included w/ the 3sixty.

lol when I saw 3sixty I thought you were talking about...xbox but anyway the setup is awesome. I've been wanting to put a speaker behind the armrest like that but not as complex as yours, thats a serious setup.

This is the box I have currently in the TL. I am thinking of going to a sigle 12"

This was the custom box I had in the back of my Prelude.

Just wanted to add to the pictures.

Sweet set up and I like the new pics with the Type-S tails. I am waiting on the Tails right now. Darn snow storm slowed the delivery down. How do you like the 3sixty? I am thinking about going with it as well.

Quick Reply: "my custom audio system upgrade w/ 3sixty!"
