Mute for Voice Navigation?
Hey all, I just got my TL a few days ago and I love it. I figured out how to adjust the volume and change the voice from male to female inside setup. But I was wondering if there was a quick MUTE button for Navigation voice you can quickly access while driving if needed.
Most cars have MUTE for the radio on the steering wheel, I am surprised the Acura doesnt have a mute button on the radio or steering wheel. Any suggestions if using NAV and voice commands come on and you want to quickly turn the volume down or mute them?
Thanks much,
Shane

I have asked the same question, with no answers. I have looked all over, and can not find a mute button. When on a HFL call, I do not want directions shouting out during my call. The best solution I have found is to hit the Set Up button press the volume off button, this will instantly turn off the Navi volume. To turn it back on, you will have to increase volume on the same screen.

Would also be nice to have an option for voice responses on commands spoken (Like radio changes, etc.), but have the voice OFF for navigation.

The only control for voice navi volume is in the Setup screen. It's not particularly easy to use while driving, but you'll get used to it. You can also control this through voice commands, but that's not nearly quick enough for your purposes.
Lately I've been using Navi with the voice kept turned off all the time. I like it better actually. The navi voice is nice at first but gets really irritating after a while. When using Navi without voice, it helps to put the Navi in split screen mode (ie. with the turn by turn list on the right half of the screen), so that you know how long to go before your next turn.

You can always "say" MUTE but it does have a lag. the other option is to turn the voice off on NAVI while on a call. I think you can also do that with a voice command (but probably not WHILE on another call as I don't think you can use both voice systems at both times).

The only mute button for the NAVI that I have found is on setup screen 1.
It would be really handy if the touchscreen map had a mute on the bottom left corner (the like map orientation button in the top left corner). I'm hoping that someone can post technical specifications for the TL electronics packages so that we may be able to add some of these overlooked features to the current system.
