Originally I was all excited by music link for my TL and had it installed when I picked the car up. To my disappointment it was really hard to use it because I have 22G of music on my Ipod and the searching sucks (a,b,c….hold down the forward button and then listen to artists). But I loved using my Ipod and just put the thing on shuffle and uninstalled the Acura software. Well now 3 months later the damn thing doesn’t work any more. I have tried multiple Ipod all the latest generation and none of them work. Overall I love the car but it would be so much easier if I could use one of the dials on my stereo and see the menus on the nav screen.

The Music Link hardware was broken and Acura replaced the unit. Before they started on the work I spoke with the mechanic and instead of sending the wire to the glove box he sent it up thru the center arm rest. Also, now I am able to somehow control the IPOD with the click wheeel.

 

You can control the ipod while its connected? On mine it does not allow me to control it while its connected. I have an IPOD MINI, what type do you have?

 

I have the ipod video. At first it did not work but after that I have full control. I only wish the tech gave me more slack with the cord.

 

Hmm, maybe on the newer units it works? Does anyone else out there whom has the Acura IPOD Music link know if theirs u can control your ipod when its hooked up?

 

My Ipod link broke after 30 days. I'm incredibly dissapointed. Why do I get the feeling my dash will be the first thing rattling. Also I didn't use to have control with the click wheel but I do now. Either the dealer updated the head unit somehow or it was one of the ipod updates that I applied.

 

It's not fair! I saw a magazine ad for the 06 tsx and it displays the title and artist on the screen.

 

update:

I called the dealer they said bring it in they will replace the connector. Not convinced this was the problem I went out and disconnected the battery for 30 sec. and problem solved. So I called them back and asked if there was updates or TSB's for the head unit, He asked if I would like to call Acura myself and I said sure. Of course they are closed today and I need to call back monday. Hope I don't have to disconnect the battery every 30 days and lose all my presets everytime. It's too soon for problems I haven't even made my first payment yet.
