I'm sure it will work with the HFL but as far as I'm aware, Motorola phones don't display all of the phone info to the MID.

It was one of the main reasons I went with SE. Before this, I was a loyal Motorola customer.

Of course it works with the HFL. All the Motorolas with bluetooth share the same triplets firmware. Brokedoc, you went with a nice phone. I picked up another K700i for my own use. The S700i is a little chunktified for my tastes.

Used the 551 today. Everything but the battery display showed up. Also, the phone answered calls in the closed position... no probs, it worked well from what I could tell.

Got mine today as well. I'm very impressed. Sounds a hellofalot better than my Sony 637 did. I think I'm going to be satisfied. I wanted the Nokia 6230, but too much negative feedback about interfacing with the HFL, etc., and even though I've been happy with Nokias for years now I just couldn't pass up 551 after holding them both in my hand, looking at the displays, and listening to the sound quality...I also really like how spread out the buttons are on this phone. That was driving me crazy about my T637 (which by the way I just returned to Cingular to get this phone)...I guess it was finally time to try a flip phone again.

Cingular gave me 30 days to return the 637, and when the V551 and 6230 took much longer than expected to be released the manager of the store allowed me the leeway to make the trade happen after the 30 days had lapsed. I would have returned the 637 sooner if they had forced me to, but they were willing to be cool about it.
