Moto Q or Acura HFL Issue?
Moto Q or Acura HFL Issue?
I have a Motorola Q that works fairly well with my 2004 HFL. The only issue is very intermittant. If I use Call or Dial commands, the stereo dims and "the voice" works with me to start a call, as usual. After she tells me "dialing", the stereo comes back on and the call is in progress on my phone, which is in my pocket, as if the BT connection was dropped at that exact moment. I have hung up mid-ring and tried again, successfully. Anyone else experience this? Any insight? Thanks.
I'm not sure if this is going to help. But a thing I noticed about my Q is that when I answer a call, it goes silent like it is going to answer, then the stereo comes on briefly, then the call goes through. I'm not sure how that behaves on the other end though. Also when making a phone call, it exhibits similar behavior, but instead of the radio coming on, a high pitched squeal comes out of the speakers. Also, just to note, that the calls are never dropped. None of this happened with the V710 I was using prior to the Q.
I have those exact same experiences when answering a call and making one. I wasn't sure if that was unique to me. Haven't had the call transfer immediately to your Q, uncommanded, just after you initiate a call?
Similar problem with the Motorola Q
I've only had my Q for a week and a half, but find that it does not pair with my '05 TL as readily as my older Moto V710.
I can initiate a call with the TL's Hands-Free but, after the high-pitched "beep" indicating the call is being placed, I find the radio comes on again AND the call has transferred automatically back to the Q. I can usually (not always) use the "Transfer" call to regain control of the call from the car, but it's a pain and not always successful.
I wondered if there was a time-based setting - either on the car's BlueTooth or on the Q - that forces it to switch from Hands-Free back to the unit after a certain number of seconds have elapsed, but haven't been able to find one.
Has anyone found a resolution for this problem?

From what I can gather it's not an issue with the HFL as much as it is with the Q itself. I have the same issue at times, and other times it works fine.
It has to do with the phone and when it "connects" vs. "dialing". If you've noticed, when you place a call, the screen says dialing... then connected: based on coverage areas orwhether or not I was using the web, or mail before the call, the time the phone spends dialing... vs. connected: can be a few seconds. If the HFL "looks" for the Q and it is dialing, it doesn't recognize, but if it is connected it will be fine.
That's all I could figure out, not really a solution, but it helps to understand.
