maybe this is a dumb question....

I just received my Valentine V1 radar locator in the mail and i am really eager to instal it considering i will be driving to carlisle this weekend for a car show... i want to hardwire the V1 tonight... i have read a few posts about installing it (the really good one with pics).. i like the idea of running the wires to the fuse box, but i am not 2 fond of wedging the power wire between the fuse and possibly stretching the fuse holder itself...... my questions is,, is there a spot in the fuse block in the drivers side kick panel and receives power that i can tap into... Rather, can i go to autozone and grab add-a-fuse holder (went to autozone web site but i couldn't find it) , hardwire it to the V1 and plug it into 1 of the unused fuse holder spots in the block...

Yes, if you look in the owners manual, there is a slot in the interior fuse box for an accessory. Just go buy a package of male/female connectors, slap one on (cant remember if its a male or female end that you need) and plug it right into the open slot in the fuse box.

If I remember correctly, that's how I did mine. I will try and check for you and get back for a definite answer. I'm at work right now, so if I can run out to the car and check, I'll let you know!

OK...I just verified....The interior fuse box has two rows. The top row, second in from the firewall is the ACC fuse port. I believe it is also a male connector that you want to use.

Hope that helps!

You are correct, I used a male when I ran my hardwire
