Low volume Aux input

Low volume Aux input
I have an iSimple unit that works fine with my ipod but when I try to use the 3.5mm for my Android phone the volume level is almost half what it should be compared to AM/FM/CD.
I've tried just tapping into the wires as this thread suggests:
https://acurazine.com/forums/audio-b...io-aux-577329/
But it has nearly the same low level issue as the 3.5mm jack in the iSimple.
Further research led me to a possible line driver solution:
Any advice?
Thanks!

What kind of phone? + when you are using the iSimple I imagine it's plugged into the dock connector on the iPod and not the iPod headphone output.
It may be completely normal as some phones have lower output than others and the iPod dock connector audio out is a pretty good signal wrt to level. For example a Samsung Galaxy SIII has particularly low output (but there are root mods to help it) Also, what is the content? Same files on each device? Same streaming apps?
The link the the PAC LD10 is interesting. I think it would help. It may be a PITA to install though if you don't currently have RCA type connections to the iSimple. Adaptors could be used but end up being costly and a bit "hokey"
I direct wire my SGSIII (hacked with a +50% volume mod) to my TL and it is definitely lower than the Radio/CDs. I don't find it a problem as I'm trained to turn down the volume before I switch off from using the phone.
