Low-tech Aux Jack Solution

I wanted to use aux jack and charger for my phone without leaving arm rest open. Also didn't want to spend money installing new connectors, etc.

Was ready to drill holes in console to run wires & was restrained by good friend. He talked me off ledge and found trap door in console & with his skinny fingers, ran my wires through bottom and around side of console. I can now play music on my charged phone and put my lazy arm on the armrest.
Thought I'd share with those of us who aren't capable of high-tech solutions.

PS: am I the only one that thinks the console with no wire holes/grooves and having a tape deck & mp3 capacity on the same car major design flaws?!

The '07 and '08 Type S console has wire channels built in that let you route your aux wire up from the lower compartment up through the upper compartment--then out the front. The trick is you can't go directly out of the bottom in one step, but up from bottom into the upper compartment, then out the front from there

I bet you have these wire channels on your '08 base. Because the base model has an aux plug in the bottom console, I'd be really surprised if the wire channels are not there. You might want to look again...

HTF did I not see this? Brand new to AZ and it's paying off already. I just sprinted outside to check this...I wish I brought my phone with me to snap a pic of how smushed my charger and aux cable are from slamming the armrest on it repeatedly since getting my 08 TL a few months ago. Wonder what other things I'll find on here my first night to make me feel even stupider lol.

no aux connection in 06 and earlier, just a charge port and the wire pathways
