Lost Navigation Code

Does anyone know how to retrieve the Navi code for the '04 TL? I lost the little card that keeps the navi and radio codes. Just got back from the dealership and they were going to charge me $60 to retrieve it. Ridiculous!

Any help, please?

You need the serial number off the nav unit in the trunk.. Have you checked the PDI portion in the service manual? That's where mine was written down at.. I thought dealers charged $5 for the navi code - assuming you give them the s/n and dont make them rip the car apart

I dont have that manual. I got the vehicle used from a BMW dealership and it wasn't there.
Someone else told me something about getting the serial off the back... Do you know if there are any guides for ripping it apart? I would hate to multiply my problems tonight. This all started with a dead battery this morning. Thought I was done with my bad day after getting a new battery installed but alas... everything got reset.

Thanks for your assistance, Fleshy

You will need to take the center console apart to get the radio code, and then you will have to take out the navigation unit in the trunk to get the code. Your best bet is to go to the dealer and explain your situation.

you can pull it for the navi, but not the radio from what I can remember. I think the old version might work for the radio, hold down the 1 and 6 buttons for about 10 seconds and then turn on the radio. See if you see any codes anywhere, there will be a U code, then an L code.

Did you check for the sticker that is attached to the glove compartment??

Or go to Acura with proof of ownership (registration, Drivers license, insurance card) and they can get you the code as well. While your there get your vehicle registered to your name in their database

Did you register on acura's owner link site?

http://owners.acura.com/Landing.aspx

Also, in your leather owners portfolio, find your maintenance journal, the very first entry should have both radio and navi codes.

sorry to bump this but i just wanted to say thanks to leedogg. I'm not the OP but my mom left my trunk open the other day and i just jumped her this morning (not my mom, the car you perverts! lol!) to a locked navi. I did not think to check my Maintenance Journal (luckily i have one - bought the car used).

Did a search and came across this thread.

Thanks again.
