Hey starting to work on the audio and I need some good suggestions for amps that will power a Rockford Fosgate Punch P2 12. It runs 200 to around 400 rms. I am in the process of making my fiberglass box so if anything airspace might be right on if just a little bit large for the sub, if that makes a difference in your thinking. I always used PPI amps in the past, but they are really expensive and I don't know if I want to buy a 9 year old amp off ebay. So does anyone have any suggestions? Looking to spend around $200.

 

So "good" and "cheap" are opposites. You probably mean "good" and "inexpensive".

what exactly are unbelievable deals? I mean I am looking pretty hard at a jl 250/1 and I can get those new on ebay for $200. Can he beat ebay prices? Sorry don't want to waste a call

 

I had a Rockford Fosgate P3001 mono amp to power the 12" P2 in my old car. It was very clean.

I gave it to my brother who then sold it on Craig's list. If only you were looking for it 2 months ago.

 

That amp is only rated at 150watts rms at 4ohm. I think it would sound better with more power...... since airspace might be somewhat lower than needed

 

I had no problems with it powering the P2. I had to turn it down because it was too much.
