Cool Looking for full range sound!!

Hey guys,

Ok so i am looking to get a full signal from the HU. So i am trying to figure out which is a full range speaker.

I have a TL-S 2007.

The question is....Which are full range speakers, the fronts or the rear deck ones?

I think its the rear deck speakers that are full range but i am not too sure.
Does anyone know for sure?

The mid-woofs that are in your doors are the same speakers as are in the rear deck. The HU counts on the natural roll-off of the speakers for the crossover and the fronts have the tweeters wired in parallel with them to provide the high end (the tweeters have a capacitor to block the low freqs).

So technically, the TL has no real full range speakers. The "full range" sound comes from the two front speakers?

True. Think of the front stage as components with a ghetto crossover. The speakers in the rear, I don't know what frequency they roll off at but I'm sure its not the 20k that real full range speakers do.

I know that the HU outputs a full range signal for the front speakers. I'm pretty sure that the rears are also driven full range.

I think if you grab the signal before the amp it will be a clean full-range signal. Once it hits the amp, equalization, etc are added.

If you search back to around '04 or '05 there's a thread where it shows the factory equalization on each channel, what's full range, the sub crossover freq, the center crossover, the entire wiring diagram, basically everything you would ever need to install any system in a TL.

I believe it was by "Death to Toasters" but I may be wrong.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure both the fronts and rears are full freq but I *think* the fronts have a lot more eq going on. I've run the rear channel to my fronts and there seems to be a lot more highs going on but if you can find that thread it will clear everything up.

Aren't the 04 and 05 different from the 07-08 TL speakers?

Not sure on what your asking but to make a RCA cable you need a positive and a negative to make one rca Plug.

BTW, I thought you was selling your MS-8?

line driver

what amp are you using? the stock output is right around 1volt which is kinda low, but is on par with a lot of cheap aftermarket headuints.

Everything is stock just that i wanted to take the signal from my HU and totally by-pass the amp. But that failed since the signal is too weak.

Is there anything i can use to make the signal comming from the HU louder?

Take the wires out of the headunit either into a line out converter or something like a Rockford fosgate 3.sixty or something that will take all the channels and put them out RCA
