LG Dare not compatible to 2006 TL HELP!!
Hey guy's just got my 2006 TL and found out that my LG Dare from verizon is not compatible with the HFL. Do you guy's have any tricks to make it compatible? Thanks!!
Check here: http://www.acura.com/handsfreelink.aspx It says not compatible if it's a Verizon phone.
If you search the sticky thread you'll find 2-3 people that paired a DARE with no problems.

yeah I have an Incite (with AT&T). LGs seem to require a different pairing method than most phones. You can't just have the car search for your phone, you have to have your phone searching for the HFL at the same time. It's a pain, but it can be done.

enter car setup...tell it to pair new phone...set pin...it will now be searching for your phone
enter lg setup...make it discoverable...so it the car can see your phone...go back and search for your car...it will come up as "handsfreelink"...enter the pin that you setup...and bam...you're done..
it's not rocket science

I have had the Dare working with my 2006 TL, no problem. It didn't link a couple times in the beginning but then it linked.
My main pain in the ass problem is that the damn phone does something quirky. When making calls, the phone's bluetooth always connects to the HFL at first, (Music mutes) then soon after, the phone automatically defaults to switch the bluetooth on the phone off (music is still muted but you can only hear/speak from the phone........Then I have to press the "bluetooth" button and it links up to the car again....Weird, it works but I have to do that on every call I send.
To recieve the calls, I press send on the steering wheel and the bluetooth connects to the HFL automatically with no problem. Anyobody else have this problem? Any way around it? My old Motorola phone connects/diconnected flawlessly and seamlessly. It would only disconnect if I deliberately pressed a button to do so.
