LG 325 Users
I would like to know if there are other LG PM325 owners that are having a problem with the phone just powering down by itself. I have had the software updated three times and it still happens. The funny thing is that last time I was at Sprint PCS to correct the issue another customer came in with the same phone and the same problem. Sprint will not replace the phone unless they see the problem happen. Since this is such a random problem, it never happens when the tech has it. I am trying to find out how wide-spread this issue is.

i apologize up front if anyone here has this phone and loves it. but in my opinion, this thing gives other pieces of shit a bad name.
i traded in my old, reliable, samsung a620 for this phone. that was the day after i got my car, so it's been around a month and a half.
it was either this or a treo 650, and i wasn't about to haul that beast of a laptop(!) around, so i got the 325 (it seems that sprint had only those two phones bluetooth ready here in the dc area).
this thing is the worst phone i've ever had the displeasure of using.
admittedly, i do get more signals than i did with the samsung, but the signals are much weaker and drop constantly. like sex, i'd prefer quality over quantity.
the sliding keypad has a recessed screen, which makes it impossible to clean.
the sliding keypad makes it impossible to put a cover of some sort on it.
and the phone's software blows goats- for example, there is no indication of alarm status (like a little bell or something on the screen). when the alarm is set and engaged, a menu item reads "Alarm Off". selecting that turns the alarm off. when it's off, that same menu item reads "Alarm On". thats just one example of the short-bus engineering that went into this shiny blue turd.
if the phone is in your pocket (with or without a headset plugged in) and you're walking around doing whatever, it'll depress buttons and at times even call people on your call shortcuts list.
if a call comes in, and you don't want to talk to that person, and you hit a button, it doesn't necessarily hang up or silence the call.
to top it all off, this phone drops calls constantly. if i have 10 conversations in a day, it'll drop 5.
for example, i called sprint to dispute my bill, and had to call back 5 TIMES because of dropped calls. and during that time, i never moved. nothing like getting into a freaking dial menu structure, finally getting a person, starting to explain what the hell the issue is and then hearing the phone drop the call.
just today, i was calling xm to get my roady2 turned back on. i sat in a parking lot waiting to finish the call, again, not daring to move an inch, when it dropped the call 36 minutes in (there were issues).
the phone went for a ride after that one. it still works, but i'd love to "sledge-o-matic" this goddamn thing.
as soon as possible, i plan on heading back to a sprint store and unloading this pos. i'd really like to wait until sprint / nextel gets a calmshell bluetooth phone, but i can't.
i'm afraid of putting this phone near my vehicles and other electronic equipment as i fear that the suckiness with find it's way to those items via osmosis.
so i'm keeping it on the couch, far away from power outlets even.

My 325 works pretty good with the TL but I have 2 intermittent problems.
1. Problems answering the phone. I select the button to answer the phone but I cannot hear the caller but he can hear me. If I open the slider on the phone I can talk to the caller.
2. Problems transferring calls. The car tells me the phone is in use. "No shit!", I'm trying to transfer the call.
Does anyone else have these problems with this phone?
And what does the update do?
thanks!
Incoming caller can hear me, but I can't hear them
I have noticed that if I have the audio system on when I recieve a call, the caller can hear me but I can't hear the caller. Incoming calls that come in when I am not using the audio system work just fine. Has anyone else had this problem?
Yeah, I've had the same issue where I can't hear the caller, but they can hear me or the stereo. I read on another post about a different phone that this happens when the phone is not in vibrate in silent mode. So on my last trip, I had the lg325 set to vibrate and incoming calls worked fine with the HFL.
Mine has been pretty good since I've had it. It has been playing little tricks on me lately though. It will occassionally drop the connection with HFL and the caller will end up talking to my storage bin. Or, sometimes I can't make a connection with HFL. Or, my HFL will lock up for quite a while before I can do anything with it.
The problems I've experienced started happening about 3 weeks ago.

I haven't confirmed that it was the vibrate mode that did the trick or just a coincidence. I'll experiment when I get a chance.
