LCD Nav
Kind of a lurker here, but I will take a stab at this,
If you are trying to retro fit a non Navi with the Navi Screen and everything that goes with it, yes it can be done, but it seems to be a lot of work. There are a few posts laying out everything you will need. If you just want to install the Navi display, I assume you could do that also, just not sure why you would want to.
On a side note I have an 06 with the Navi, (and I just updated the DVD) and I still end up using my Android turn by turn more than the on board navi.

Without the gps and I imagine you're going to be missing a lot of the brains of the system. I'd expect quite a bit of custom work. Search for some on the non-navi conversion threads. They'll give you a whole lot better idea than I can.

I had not thought of the backup cam, I never added one to my car, but have thought about it.
As I read the posts after I replied I'm not sure you would be able to even fire off the LCD without at the very least the DVD drive as well, I might be wrong on this, but the NAVI system loads every time you start the car. Additionally, I just changed my Battery and it reloaded everything from the DVD on the first startup. (a 10 min process, including sat alinement) I'm not expert by any measure, so I would temper my thoughts with what others on this board have posted.

This holds true at least for the 04-06 with Navi, as I had installed the mod. (it was wiped out after the re-load following the battery change)
This leads me back to the point about putting in the LCD only, as most of the functionality is loaded from the DVD into the unit.
