Last amp thread I swear..... Zed Leviathan II.
Last amp thread I swear..... Zed Leviathan II.
I'm asking this over here because I've posted too many amp questions over at DIYMA and they're going to think I'm retarded...
The goal is as few amps as possible while running the 3-way fronts, center, and two subs active. The center *can* be run off the MS8 even though I would prefer not to. Subs obviously will be run off of one channel.
So I'm looking at the Zed Leviathan II. 6 channels:
150 watts x 6 into 4 ohm or 300w x 6 into 2 ohm.
300w x 3 into 8 ohm or 600w x 3 into 4 ohm.
Powerful enough that I wouldn't have to bridge it for the Dyn front stage even with the 8ohm tweeter and mid. I didn't know there was a 6 channel made with this kind of power spread evenly over all channels and with a ton of flexibility. Very cool looking although the goal is to hide it under a seat. Going to measure right now to see if that's even possible. If not it will look neat in the trunk.
I could run both subs off of a bridged channel if needed, 600w should be more than enough for these subs.
So I can basically have one of the most efficient amps out there running my front stage with the current class D on the subs which would be really easy on my charging system compared to the current 3 amp setup, an A/B McIntosh, an A/B Interfire and the class D Infinity on the subs. It would be nice to not always have to have the engine running when tuning. I've driven under 15 miles this week and burned half a tank of gas from sitting idle tuning. My average mpg is 3 right now.
Or I can get two of these amps, run the 6 Dyns, center, subs, and bridge whichever speakers need the power the most.
Jerry, I really need to talk to you before I do this. If you're busy this weekend, I can call you Monday. I haven't found a whole lot of places selling this amp and most are pretty close to retail.
