I've had my car since march of 08. Its a 2008 tl type S. The original switchblade key that came with the car has been working sporadically lately and recently it barely works at all. When I go to use the real key into the door my car alarm goes off and I have to wait for the alarm to go off. When i put the key into the ignition the alarm goes off again even though the car has started. So basically I cant do anything without the alarm going off even though im using the real key. Do I have to replace it or does it just need new batteries.

Can you guys let me know what the deal is please? Thank you.

I would sure start by changeing the battery.
