K&P Technologies 10% off code....window roll-up mod anyone?
#81
Well, I installed mine (direct solder method) and it's not working. All the original functions of the FOB still work. I did break one wire but soldered it back together. Can some please post up what color wire from the module goes to what wire in the car so I can double check my wiring? Any help is really appeciated.
Thanks........
Thanks........
KP Black --> Acura pure Black
KP Yellow --> Acura pure Yellow
KP Blue --> Acura Yellow/black stripe
KP Green --> Acura White/red stripe(on large white window module)

You have to open up the white plastic weather barrier/vapor barrier and look for that wire heading towards the lock mechanism... I can assure you that you have the wrong yellow/black wire tapped...

You really should use a volt meter to verify the wires BEFORE you make connections. It is possible to damage the module by hooking it up incorrectly. The Acuras have multiple wires of the same color inside the door.
Due to the higher then normal number of issues we have with customers installing these in Hondas we have included a diagnostic LED in every unit that shipped during this promotion. The super bright blue LED can be seen by looking in the hole in the module where the wire harness passes through.
If everything is hooked up correctly this is how it should work:
1. Press the "LOCK" button on the remote - the BLUE LED will light up for the duration of the lock event and then turn off. If the module is not doing this verify the red wire is hooked to constant power, the black wire is hooked to a good ground, and the blue wire is hooked to the lock actuator. The yellow wire should be disconnected from the vehicle IF the LED is not lighting up during this step to eliminate it from the equation.
2. Once the LED turns off press the "LOCK" button again and the LED should come on and stay on for ~10 seconds while the windows are going up. If the LED comes on but the windows don't raise up then the green wire needs to be rechecked to make sure it is connected to the correct wire.
If the windows stop while going up the LED will shut off then flash. I believe two flashes means the unit saw a lock pulse which shut the output off and three flashes is the ignition (yellow wire) was turned on (or had 12vdc applied to it).
Again though, it is imperative that a volt meter be used to verify wiring!

if anyone needs help wiring this up and is local Bx and lower Westchester I dont mind helping out I did mine with no problems and it works perfectly.
I think alot of you guys are use the wrong YELLOW/BLACK stripped wire and thats what's causing all the confusion. As stated you do need to cut the vapor barrier a little to access the wire. it's there just look real closely at the pics that were put up in the intsall thread. one pic is missing though but from the rest of them you can see the wire and it's location.

Just did this install about a week ago, didn't work at first, so I went back in and re-tightened all of my connections and it works like a charm. I love walking away from my car with all the windows down, then hitting lock twice and just watch my windows roll up, LOVE it everytime lol. Follow this DIY carefully, check everything twice and you should have no problems installing it yourself.

I used the same instructions on my 06. Check out post #375 where I mention the most helpful image of the whole thread. Hope it helps.
BTW, for anyone who has not already installed this---this is probably the #1 favorite mod I have done to my car. I use it every day and have been very happy with the ease of install, operation and durability. Highly recommended, especially with 20% off!

Did you verify the wiring with a volt meter? There are multiple wires of the same color - a volt meter is the only way to make sure you have it 100%.

I got it a while ago, and it works like a charm.... close all windows including sunroof...
My friends with Bimmer/Benz/Lexus/Audi are what the heck?! How come Acura does that?!

Could anybody explain why mine worked fine for a month, and then just doesn't work at all?
I followed installation instructions carefully.
Even used the snap on style crimps.. it's supposed to be a solid connection, don't know what it could be at this point...
