any suggestions?

hey guys,

any suggestions where I could have it installed in my 07 TL-S here in San Jose (South Bay Area)?

I'd do it myself, but I don't have any tools.

^ the panels are no big deal really, it only took me a few mins, it's only a few screws. It is nice to have a helper though so they can hold the panel while you disconnect stuff, I didn't want to set mine on the ground. Yea, I'll be at the NY meet, there is going to be soooo many people there though nobody is going to know who anyone else is lol.

So, anybody around South Bay Area installed this module?

If so, could you help me out? Where did you go and have it installed?

Thanks!

I find it VERY hard to imagine you not being able to install this yourself...I'm gonna post the diy link again for you
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/kp-technologies-window-roll-up-module-install-3g-garage-i-097-a-596643/
get yourself a screwdriver (home depot), some 3m double sided sticky tape (auto zone), and some of those plastic fold over clip things (radio shack but make sure you get the right size), and do this already. It will NOT take you more than an hour and that's if you work really slow and take lots of breaks. PM me if you need more help but you can do this, I swear

Thanks Carrie,

I finally did it, as I told you before, I went to Radio Shack and got everything, it took me extra hour, because, I'm too strong that when squeeze the metal part with a pair of plyers on the small green/white wire with the KP's yellow, I accidentally cut the small green/white wire, so I had to go to Radio Shack again to get extra wire.

Came back and extended the small green/white cable with 2 wire tap-in connectors.

And voila! It works, and put everything back.

As for the timing, I've tried several times, and found out that when I want to lock and roll-up the windows, just press 3 times and hold a little bit longer on the 3 time, and then release the button and all 4 windows and sun/moon roof would start closing.

Thank you Carrie, John and FAST4DR.

Thanks for the heads up and promotion code. Just stumbled across this mod and couldn't pass it up for the price + ease of installation.

CarrieLynn must be getting some kickbacks from these

Definitely pick one up if you're on the fence. It's still a little cold here but I find myself leaving my windows down when I turn the car off just to use it.

Install is pretty straight forward and I'm somebody that's uneasy messing with wiring. Not to mention my soldering skills need some work. But, so far everything's working fine.

What's the gray thing you put it on the second picture?

I don't remember seeing that in my door, mine has a white plastic that's covering everything?

Sound deadener.

I use 2 layers of a butyl based deadener on the outer skin of the door then top it off with a closed cell based deadener. Seal up the large holes in the door with a 18gauge sheet metal. Top off everything with another layer of butyl deadener and closed foam on top of that.

Where did you get those?

Do those help to fix rattles as well?

Yes. No more rattles from my doors. Not to mention the improved midbase, and enhancement soundstage ...

In addition to the door itself I also did the door panel. I don't want to draw away from this thread too much... if you want to check out more pictures go here:

and feel free to PM me if you have questions

Issue with trunk button

I didn't notice until shortly after doing this install, but my "trunk release" button is no longer working! I just push it and nothing happens.

The KP module, and everything else seems to be working fine. What could I have done? How can I debug/fix this? Very annoying to have to turn off car, remove key, to pop the trunk!

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Now that we are in our "busy" season we don't typically offer discounts. This promotion, from start to finish, lasted about three months before it ended 5 weeks ago!

If they use Honda's or Acura's Push Start Button instead of Nissan's, I might consider putting one

By the way, I just tested my indoor roll-up window function and it works!

Awesome!

Well, I installed mine (direct solder method) and it's not working. All the original functions of the FOB still work. I did break one wire but soldered it back together. Can some please post up what color wire from the module goes to what wire in the car so I can double check my wiring? Any help is really appeciated.

Thanks........
